He attended a seminary in Lutsk (present-day Ukraine) in 1789-1792. Then he began to work as a home tutor, encouraged by, among others, Tadeusz Czacki, at whose instance he settled in Kraków in 1796. In 1803 he completed the studies in physical, and moral, sciences at the Jagiellonian University. He was employed as a lector in French. In 1809 Czermiński became the head of the Department of General History and Geography. He was a member of the Kraków Scientific Society from 1817 - that is, from the moment it was established – and the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the Jagiellonian University in 1816-1820. His published works include De studio philosophiae moralis (1814).
